The idea here revolves around a fictional blood-borne disease. Upon skin contact with the infected blood, the immune system creates abscesses in that area that hold white blood cells, dead tissue, and the pathogens. This happens because of the pathogens ability to bypass the skins barrier functions, leading to a pronounced inflammatory reaction.
