This makeup look was created as an entry for the FRONT Competition, developed in response to a brief exploring transformation, perception, and altered realities. The concept centred on the idea that beauty is not fixed, but conditional—changing depending on how it is viewed.

The design was built to physically transform under coloured lenses, revealing different visual information depending on the filter applied. In one state, the makeup appears restrained and minimal; in another, previously hidden colours and details emerge. This duality was achieved through precise colour theory, pigment placement, and contrast control, allowing the face to operate as two distinct images within a single look.

Rather than relying on digital manipulation, the transformation was embedded directly into the makeup itself. Coloured lenses functioned as a tool for perception, exposing how easily identity, emotion, and meaning can shift based on context, technology, or point of view. The work explores how the face can hold multiple narratives at once, what is visible, what is concealed, and what is only revealed under specific conditions.

This entry demonstrates experimental thinking within beauty design, combining technical makeup skill with conceptual problem-solving. The outcome positions makeup as an interactive medium, one that responds to external systems and reframes the relationship between the viewer, the image, and the body.
