Wind in the Willows

I was the lead makeup artist for Wind in the Willows, the MAST Mayflower Youth Theatre’s flagship December production. Running for over two weeks through the Christmas season, the show included press nights and received glowing online reviews — a standout production in Southampton’s festive arts scene.

My role involved overseeing the full makeup design, managing a team of assistants, and ensuring all looks were applied efficiently and consistently throughout the run. With a large cast of whimsical woodland characters, the production demanded both creativity and precision under time pressure. Strong time management and team coordination were key to keeping the backstage process smooth during this high-energy show.

In addition to the live performances, I also created the makeup looks for the show’s poster and promotional material, which were shot in August 2024. This early creative input helped shape the visual identity of the production from the very beginning.
