This shoot was created for GUNK Collective under the prompt Organism, featuring a makeup look by Ashley Hibberd inspired by NASA’s cellular research. Her design explored the intersection of science and life, using colour and texture to reflect microscopic forms and experimental growth.

Though the portraits were minimal and tightly framed, I used split lighting to enhance the asymmetry of the look — drawing focus to the contrasting colours and details on each side of the face. The lighting subtly emphasized the duality in Ashley’s design, giving the final images a clean yet conceptually layered feel.
