The Eating of Sin - Short Film

I spent several immersive days on location at the beautifully preserved 17th-century village of Little Woodham, working as a makeup assistant on the short film The Eating of Sin. The film draws on ancient Christian folklore surrounding the ritual of sin eating — a haunting practice where one individual symbolically absorbs the sins of the dead.

Set against the backdrop of historical buildings and misty woods, the production called for raw, period-accurate looks with a touch of the surreal. I assisted with character makeup, naturalistic grime, and prosthetics that brought the story's eerie spiritual undertones to life. This project was a powerful blend of history, faith, and folklore — and an unforgettable experience in atmospheric storytelling through makeup.
